Senior Java Software Engineer in Molecular Diagnostics
We are seeking an experienced developer to contribute to graphical interfaces and related algorithm software for instrument operation and assay development on our DNA detection device. Research scientists will use the software to develop assays, automate experimental procedures, improve quantitative models, and visualize data for review. Candidates with excellent development skills and learning aptitude may be considered despite a lack of domain experience in these areas.
Software development will be conducted using formal quality assurance procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
• BS (required) or MS (preferred) in computer science, mathematics, or physics
• 5+ years Java programming, including Swing user interfaces
• 8+ commercial software development experience
• Experience developing database software for high throughput or high reliability applications
• Background or experience in scientific programming, particularly in molecular biology or medicine (highly desirable)
• Education or experience in bioinformatics, statistical modeling, and laboratory automation (desirable)
• Good team player with cross-disciplinary communication skills
