Supervisor Manufacturing Technician

Based in Mansfield, MA since 2005, we are a privately funded scientific and engineering company with nearly thirty (30) employees. Our proprietary technology, named STAR, was developed by PrimeraDx and is protected by three US patents with additional filings pending. STAR is uniquely positioned to address unmet needs currently impacting infectious disease and oncology diagnostics in that it provides the first technology capable of multiplexing with true quantification. Some of our current collaboration partners include The Cleveland Clinic and Massachusetts General Hospital.
Overview: We are currently seeking a Lead/Supervisor Manufacturing Technician
to take on the responsibility of assembling key consumable components for Primera’s diagnostic platform.
Reports To: Engineering Team Manager
Responsibilities:

Will work in a precision assembly area as a lead manufacturing/production technician.

Operation of dedicated fixtures and equipment.

Fine hand assembly of small components into completed subassemblies including precision threading and positioning of very fine capillary tubing using magnified viewers.
- Bonding fixtured components with adhesives.
- Soldering fine diameter tubing and electronic components to circuit boards
- Using stereo microscopes to inspect work.
- Understand the function and importance of assembly criteria and methods
- Perform established QC procedures on assemblies to ensure uniform high quality.
- Organizing work and work area to ensure efficiency and high yield.
- Keep work area stocked with necessary supplies.
- Work with engineering to improve the design and manufacturing process.
- Supervise additional assembly technicians as required to meet increasing production requirements.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years experience in supervising or leading technicians in assembly and inspection of scientific/diagnostic instrument components.
- Highly motivated, exhibiting initiative, independence and drive to make important contributions.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience using a microscope and general lab apparatus.
- Use of MS Word and Excel.
- Experience with working with production documentation including work orders, travelers, inspection reports, etc.
- Electronic assembly and soldering is a plus.
- Experience working in an ISO or cGMP certified facility is a plus.
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is a plus.
